Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain praises record-breaking Arsenal star
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been excellent of late.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is ready to call upon his versatility in order to maintain Arsenal’s push for silverware on all fronts heading into the busy Christmas period, claiming “the needs of the team come first”.
Ozil left Madrid to move to North London on transfer deadline day two summers ago, with the diminutive schemer seemingly being pushed out of the Santiago Bernabeu in a cost-cutting exercise after the Spaniards splurged on Gareth Bale.
The Premier League can often be a tricky place for foreign stars to express their ability, yet Ozil has proven to be an exception as this season there has been little to deny his brilliance.
Spanish publication Don Balon reports that Ozil’s superb form this season has not gone unnoticed by the Los Blancos hierarchy, stating that the La Liga giants believe the midfielder now has the required maturity and consistency.
“I just think his quality is coming out a bit more. They have a very good player on their hands”.
The German set a new record for Premier League assists last month, having created chances in seven consecutive games, and was provider again on Sunday as he set up Aaron Ramsey for the Gunners’ second against Aston Villa.
I’m sure Arsene Wenger sees this is a mini-winter break for Ozil and the player has taken to Instagram to upload a couple of photos of him sunning it up on a yacht this afternoon.
