Child found dead in Mississauga apartment

A Mississauga mother has been charged with the murder of her 2-year-old son, police said Tuesday.

Russom Tesfamar Yordanos has been charged with first-degree murder, police say.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing on Tuesday.

Police say the two-year-old was deceased when the officers arrived at the scene.

Gary Batasar also said his client was very shaken up.

Investigators aren’t disclosing the gender of the adult or the child, or their relationship.

“We’re going to look at the facts, the circumstances surrounding the charge, not the emotional reaction of the public”.
