Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, & Diane Keaton Reunite For Netflix Feature Film
Divanation will be the first movie the actresses have appeared in together since 1996’s The First Wives Club, in which they played three divorcees who plot against their ex-husbands.
Deadline reports that the film will star the three women as estranged members of a girlgroup who are forced to reunite after their thirty year estrangement.
Netflix has acquired a new feature film to add to its burgeoning library of originals.
The initial script for Divanation was penned by Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse, the co-writing team behind animated 2007 film Surf’s Up, as well as 2012 comedy parental Guidance with also starred Bette Midler alongside Billy Crystal.
No dates have been locked at this time as they are waiting for a new draft of the script before they get a director and set a start date, but that’s no bother, as long as they lock in their leading ladies.
Hawn, Midler and Keaton are all born within 45 days of each other, and have each celebrated their 70th birthdays this year. The first Adam Sandler comedy, The Ridiculous Six, was just released on the streaming service, and the David Michod-directed Brad Pitt-starrer War Machine is coming.
