Chelsea in crisis as under-pressure Mourinho lashes out
Unheralded Leicester’s awesome form continued with the win that put them top of the standings with 35 points from 16 games.
Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has said he felt “betrayed” by his players, after they were beaten 2-1 by Leicester City on Monday night.
But while they are near the trap-door, nobody really sees them sensationally falling through it by the time next May comes around. “They should still be there or thereabouts, but where they are just above the relegation zone is impossible”.
Right winger Mahrez, so impressive this season, fired in a unsafe ball from the right, with Vardy well placed to get in between John Terry and Kurt Zouma.
In addition to the team’s bad performance, midfielder Eden Hazard also seemed to have hurt his hip when he went up against Leicester forward Jamie Vardy.
Vardy’s next involvement would hurt Chelsea further.
Mahrez tried his luck again from the edge of the box in the 19th minute after Chelsea struggled to clear a long throw-in by Fuchs, but again the Algerian’s shot was straight at Courtois. So he then turned on them.
For things to change, Mourinho might need to buy a new striker in the January transfer window. Substitute Loic Remy pulled one back for Chelsea with 13 minutes left but the champions were unable to find an equaliser. We concentrated for 95 minutes against the champions.
There are now 20 points separating Leicester and Chelsea. Current Leicester boss Ranieri.
“I have to believe he is injured”. He also said that it is a matter of shame that a club like Chelsea FC are near the relegation zone at the moment.
“I think you know me well enough that I am not afraid of big challenges and at this moment, this is a real big challenge”.
“The last question is always the same”. I want to stay.
“I want to stay; I hope Mr. Abramovich and the board want me to stay”.
“I could feel that they wanted me”.
Mourinho said: “We can’t finish top four, but we can still finish top six because so many teams are dropping points”.
“I identified four movements where they score nearly all their goals. I have to be honest with them and say that every day in training I enjoy to work with them because they want to work”.
“I don’t know what is wrong”. And a final bit of proof to back up my theory is available on the stats website Squawka.com where there is a table showing the figures of the Premier League clubs compiled from all sorts of stats and showing the three categories of defence, attack and possession as well as a total.
