Modi Govt Sent CBI To Get ‘Jaitley Files’, Says Kejriwal
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) confirmed officers had raided the Delhi Secretariat and 13 other locations in connection with a corruption case involving Kejriwal’s principal secretary Rajendra Kumar.
“If CBI raids, it does so with substantial proof”.
The AAP chief in a stern warning to Modi also thundered that he is not going to be cowed down by any CBI raid.
News of the raid was broken by Mr Kejriwal himself, who posted on Twitter that “CBI raids my office”, and then accused his arch-rival Modi of being “a coward and a psychopath” who could not “handle me politically”.
“If Rajendra Kumar was favouring a particular firm in getting tenders from various Delhi government departments in 2007, then what was Modi ji doing till 2015”, Kejriwal told the media here.
The CPI(M) said it was “unprecedented” that under the pretext of investigating charges against a bureaucrat, the office of a chief minister should be sealed and files searched as alleged by Mr Kejriwal.
“It essentially demonstrates that greatly perturbed by the enormous defeat in Delhi followed by enormous defeat in Bihar, Mr. Modi is compelling his own as well as his party’s political departure”. A new, bitter standoff between the Centre and Delhi government has found its way into vitriolic 140 character tweets after the print and electronic media went back to file their stories for the day.
On Tuesday, Kejriwal also dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he is not scared of the raid conducted and will continue to fight for the country till his last breath.
A furious BJP today lashed out at Arvind Kejriwal for his “disgraceful” remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and said it was shameful that the CM who came from the “womb of” anti-graft stir was protecting an officer involved in a “textbook case of corruption”. “Kejriwal would demand raids at the drop of hat”, Mr Singhvi said.
Kejriwal said his government had set up an inquiry committee to probe alleged irregularities in DDCA which had submitted its report and he was to set up a Commission of Inquiry to carry out a detailed probe in the wrongdoings in the cricket body. “He should come out of the nightmare of 66 seats won by AAP in Delhi Assembly elections and should let the state government function”, he added.
“If CBI had any evidence against Rajendra why didn’t they share it [with] me”. “They told me nobody was allowed inside”, Prakash said. “You apologies to the nation for your misdeeds and I will apologise for my words”, he said.
“The CBI (runs) raids only when they receive a credible criticism and they would like to research the corruption”.
“Modi is a coward and psychopath”, he tweeted.
“Chief Minister today cancelled Cabinet meeting and a board meeting of Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) on rehabilitation of dwellers which were to be held at Delhi Secretariat due to CBI’s raids”, said a senior government official.
