Kejriwal should tender ‘unqualified apology’ to PM for his ‘coward’ remark
The state-run All India Radio tweeted: “‘CBI denies raids at #Delhi C Arvind Kejriwal’s office says Principal Secrerary Rajendra Kumar’s office raided”.
Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar alleged that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is indulging in low level politics and is sheltering those who are involved in corruption.
The CBI must be having some proof, that is why it has raided several places. I want to tell Modi ji, you scared other people through CBI, but you have no idea what Kejriwal is made up of. I will fight for the country till my last breath but will never get intimidated. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has clarified that the raids had nothing to do with Kejriwal’s office or his tenure as Delhi chief minister. “Modi is a coward and psychopath”.
He said the CBI was using Kumar as an excuse to look through all his files. The investigating agency has claimed that foreign currency worth over Rs. 3 lakh and cash worth Rs. 2.4 lakh was found during a raid at Mr Kumar’s residence.
But Kejriwal countered that the CBI, which is funded by the central government, was “lying”. The CM of Delhi, who has been in a tussle with the Centre ever since he came to power has launched allegations at the Prime Minister, calling him a coward. “CBI raids my office”, he tweeted. “If they were looking for files of 2007-14 period, what were they looking for in my office?”
In November, the Delhi government also set up a three-member committee to look into allegations of corruption within the DDCA.
He continued: “I am the only CM who dismissed, on my own, a minister and a senior officer on charges of corruption and handed their cases to CBI”.
“If CBI had any evidence against Rajendra why didn’t they share it [with] me”. “You apologise to the nation for your misdeeds and I will apologise for my words”, Kejriwal said on Tuesday evening after the BJP attack on him for his strong words against Modi.
The CBI had earlier clarified it carried out searches at the office of Kejriwal’s Principal Secretary Rajender Kumar’s office at the Delhi Secretariat and not that of the Chief Minister. Naidu reminded Kejriwal of his party’s resolution that no prior permission from the government should be required for raiding an officer charged with corruption.
