Odell Beckham’s second TD of night provides Giants lead over Dolphins
Beckham returned and caught two touchdown passes, both very different and altogether spectacular, to turn a 24-17 Giants deficit into a 31-24 victory Monday night that saves the season and allows the Giants to stay in contention in the wacky NFC East. Beckham had a monster game himself, with 166 yards on seven receptions with his two scores.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s friendly showdown with fellow wide receiver Jarvis Landry turned into a solo act on Monday as the New York Giants standout continues to steal the show from opponents.
A national audience will get another good look at the Vikings when they play the Giants in a Week 16 game at TCF Bank Stadium.
“It was a big win also for the fact that it came down to the fourth quarter and we had to make some plays and we had a four-minute drive at the end there where we had to get some first downs to keep the ball and we did that”, Manning said after the game. “We’re responsible for it. But now, we’ll find out who really loves it. We’ll find out who wants to finish this thing out and who wants to play for the logo on the helmet and who wants to play for the logo on the jersey”.
Manning concluded the day by performing at his season’s best, completing 27 of 31 passes for a total 337 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
“Odell Beckham is capable of going toe-to-toe with Norman, but with this many potential weak coverage points, the Giants are going to do all they can to get Beckham matched up against other Panthers defenders as well”, Joyner wrote.
He played 10 seasons from 1978 to 1987 and had 64.5 career sacks, third most among Dolphins’ players.
“We’re going against a quarterback who’s phenomenal”, Beckham said after emulating Newton’s dab dance.
“Obviously his performance is something we all expect”, Landry said.
The Dolphins (5-8) were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs with the loss. “The safety (Reshad Jones) was getting low and got Odell on a slant”. “He’s just continuing to do what he does”.

In the wake of this 31-24 loss to the Giants, however, there’s no use in searching for symbols or dark secrets.
“It was great to be able to come out here”, said a exhausted Beckham after the game.
“I was upset about the fight, losing their temper and all that stuff, but the bottom line is you can’t afford to do it and lose a guy”, the Giants’ coach said.
On the other side, Lamar Miller posted 89 yards and his two touchdowns on 12 rushes. Defensive end George Selvie was evaluated for a concussion in fourth quarter and didn’t return.
“We hadn’t been finishing”, Coughlin said.
Coach Tom Coughlin took a tumble when Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie ran into him along the sideline. “It snapped my neck.”… The season then concludes with home games sure to be sparsely attended against Indianapolis (6-7) and New England (11-2), which clinched another AFC East title with Miami’s latest defeat.
For Monday night’s win to mean anything, the Giants must parlay it into at least a couple of wins over the next three weeks.
