The Voice victor to be crowned tonight
Jordan Smith, from Team Adam Levine, was named season nine victor of “The Voice” Tuesday.
The Voice 9 hit an exciting crescendo December 14 as the four finalists still vying for the season nine title gave their final performances for America’s votes. Wow, coming from the Maroon 5 frontman is compliment enough. It was of course so nice to see him back; he was last on The Voice during season six when his team member, Josh Kaufman actually won it all! Everyone right from celebrities, to the finalists of the show and its fans, had hearty congratulations lined up for the fantastic singer.
Throughout the show, Smith has remained humble as the judges continue to remark on his flawless performances, citing his perfection and ability to connect with the audience.
The night included some awesome songs like “Lean On” by all the past participants as the opening act. Emily Ann Roberts, who represented country star Blake Shelton in the competition, finished just because Smith in the two-spot with Cam’s Burning House, and Smith landed at number three with Climb Every Mountain.
Smith, who grew up singing in a church choir and has a repertoire that includes pop, gospel and Christian music, said he never assumed he would win, even if others did. A YouTube user commented on this video, “Usher must feel so honored that he can sing with Jordan”. “You have goals and dreams and then always doubt creeps in”, said the singer, who cited a rendition of Queen’s Somebody to Love as a season highlight. Justin Bieber and The Weeknd also performed.
On tonight’s The Voice results finale, Jordan’s duet with Usher “Without You” did justice to the original and may show why Jordan deserves to win it all.
It’s safe to say the Twitterverse went nuts!
