Jason Garrett knows exactly why Dez Bryant is struggling
On his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan, Jones said despite his early season injuries and his recent performance in Green Bay, which he claimed was an “aberration”, the Cowboys will not “shut down” Dez Bryant. Naturally, he had some things to say.
Owner Jerry Jones concedes nothing despite a 4-9 start to the season for the Dallas Cowboys. He was out numerous games Tony Romo missed with a broken clavicle but Romo’s follow-up injury has left Bryant with Matt Cassel on a permanent basis and the two have yet to get on the same page.
“I think the overall execution has to better”, said head coach Jason Garrett.
Man, what a pit bull. “We will go balls out with Dez”. In the receiving end, Brandon Marshall had 125 yards and one touchdown in six receptions while Eric Decker added 74 yards and one touchdown in seven catches.
“I’m not so sure the foot is an issue from the fact that it limited him very early in the season and training camp and of course the way we were involved in (contract) negotiations during the spring”, Jones said.
That’s not all. It seems the Cowboys have also pinpointed the issue that plagued them all season – players being on their dang phones during practice and in the locker room. He had multiple dropped passes as well. “But he just hasn’t had enough of it to cope with what we need him to be doing right now”.
Offensively, this team was expected to set the NFC East on fire with the addition of running back Darren McFadden, coupled with the one-two combo of Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant. “I’m not making excuses”. Bryant and the Cowboys were hoping to get some revenge after the catch-non-catch call in the playoffs previous year, but they did not see that happen on Sunday.
