Aldo deserves a rematch greater than Rousey does
McGregor floored Jose Aldo with a thunderous shot, unifying the featherweight titles and leaving his mark on the sport.
“He threw a straight to my chest, I was expecting it, and when I went to attack him, he hit a good straight”.
One way or another, it doesn’t look like Jose Aldo is getting another crack at Conor McGregor any time soon.
“If I go up to that lightweight division, there’s no way in hell that I’m vacating my belt”.
After watching the fight, Aldo still can’t pinpoint his exact mistake.
When Bones was attempting to rehabilitate from his wild ways, and fight back to the UFC, the Dubliner reached out with words of support.
On his UFC future:”We spoke (with Dana White) right after”.
The shock was so evident that some of the UFC fighter could only express themselves using curse words, so we can’t reprint them here.
Lasting just 13 seconds, McGregor’s win was the shortest world title fight in UFC history.
McGregor defeated Aldo in just 13 seconds after Aldo rushed in with a left hook to McGregor’s face. This match was so fast that it even broke Ronda Rousey’s record for a title fight finish.
“I think we need a rematch and that will be my fight”, said Aldo via the Daily Mail. “The trash talking didn’t affect me, I don’t care what he says”, he said.
The UFC brass would prefer to protect their investment and ensure that McGregor makes it to the biggest pay-per-view of all time, but the man himself is having none of it.
Boom, he’s back. We’ll see what Conor decides to do, if he decides to make the weight, not make the weight, whatever.
One thing is for sure I will be waiting eagerly for Aldo’s second encounter with McGregor, as a fan of the sport, both of these athletes and for the simple dream of one day sharing the cage with them.
Speaking to the Fight Network ahead of the fight, Riggs said, “The fact that the guy (Aldo) who’s considered the pound-for-pound best fighter on the planet and he’s the underdog against this guy (McGregor) who’s f***ing nothing”.
