Kerry: Trump’s Rhetoric Endangers Our National Security
By their own description, Trump supporters are frustrated and angry about the direction of the nation. Most recently, a poll from the Center for Security Policy released data showing “25 percent of those polled agreed that violence against Americans here in the United States is justified as a part of the global jihad” and 51 percent of those polled, “agreed that Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to Shariah”.
Trump went on to say “Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred (among Muslims) is beyond comprehension”. They feel the criticism that comes from those same politicians is rooted in the weakness Trump promises to sweep away.
For example, the hat sent to Ben Carson includes “no Muslim presidents”, a reference to remarks the retired neurosurgeon made in September on the potential for Muslims in the White House, while Sen. Ted Cruz, embraced the Muslim ban as a “great idea”. This and other things. It was America then.
He added he was taken aback by the backlash: “I don’t know how to comprehend that”.
After the visit was postponed, Netanyahu’s office said it had nothing to do with the announcement and he had not spoken to Trump about the matter. Along party lines, the disparity was telling: 68 percent of Republican said Trump is saying the right things, while 78 percent of Democrats said he is making things worse. But the reason his careless and sloppy immigration commentary resonates is that no one else in public life is willing to address issues that worry – and, at this point, frighten – people.
Meantime, the Washington Post/ABC News poll also revealed strong opposition to Mr. Trump’s proposed ban on letting Muslims who are not USA citizens into our country.
As the week progressed, Trump began to fill in additional details.
However, Trump has no difficulty branding all Muslims in the U.S.as potential terrorist Jihadists – to the applause of his followers.
“By the way, it’s not total and complete”.
The hacktivist group reportedly shut down the Trump Tower website, TrumpTowerNY.com, through limiting access through a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack that temporarily paralyzed it. The site is frequently used as a command center for Trump’s presidential campaign. “You’re going to have exceptions. You don’t get the whole picture”.
