Sergio Aguero hands Manchester City fitness boost
Sergio Aguero has returned to training ahead of Manchester City’s crucial clash with Arsenal.
But City are hopeful he will be able to play in the crunch match at the Emirates on Monday.
The Telegraph reports that the striker is under close observation to check for any recurrence of the injury but was back in full training with the squad on Tuesday, 15 December, giving Manuel Pellegrini another option up front.
Despite his lengthy spells on the sideline the 27-year-old leads City’s scoring charts with seven league goals.
City now sit a point behind Arsenal, and are a further two off leaders Leicester, in third place in the Premier League after failing to capitalise on their electric start to the season.
Arsenal have been playing captivating football this season, with Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey coming to the fore for Wenger’s side, as they are having to deal with a number of injury issues.
Aguero has been in sensational form for City once again this season, but as in previous campaigns his momentum has been halted by injury.
Aguero limped off against Southampton last month and has missed the club’s last four games.
He has only scored in three Premier League games, although managed five against Newcastle United.
