West Brom make new bid for Antonio
Antonio is understood to have held talks with Forest’s hierarchy in the wake of West Brom’s bid and he has informed them that he would like to leave the City Ground to fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League.
West Brom have made a fresh bid for Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio, as indicated by reports.
The amount bid by the Baggies is £5m, according to The Express & Star, and it is believed to have been swiftly turned down by Forest.
The Reds value the 25-year-old much higher but, while they adhere to the conditions of breaking Financial Fair Play rules, would be unable to spend the proceeds from any sale.
Today’s news continues a frustrating few weeks for Albion boss Tony Pulis, who has also seen negotiations over QPR winger Matt Phillips hit an impasse as the London club refuse to lower their £10m asking price.
Antonio started every league fixture last season and scored 15 goals during a hugely impressive first campaign on the banks of the River Trent following his arrival from Sheffield Wednesday last summer for £1.5million.
