HTC One M9 handsets in Canada will get Marshmallow next year
The latest version of Android brings several new features on the table.
Meanwhile, the first quarter next year, according to the post, will see users of the One M9+ and One E8 receiving their Android 6.0 update.
The Moto X Style, the worldwide version of the Moto X Pure Edition that is available in the U.S., along with the Moto X (2014) version, has received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update.
In a report by the International Business Times last month, LG has started to roll out the official version of the 6.0 Marshmallow for its smartphones, but the LG G3 version has yet to be released.
Note that in case you’re rooted your device or you’ve applied any major OS customizations on your LG G3, then the update will not arrive over the air and you will have to look elsewhere for alternate Android 6.0 updating methods.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS upgrade is a major one and it should come with the LG UX 4.2 along with tons of extra features and functions.
There’s a catch though, as the update is only available for Verizon employees.
The Moto X Style features a 5.7-inch QuadHD display offering a 515ppi pixel density. While the Nexus series has already started receiving the Android 6.0.1 OTA, the LG G4 is yet to receive the Android 6.0 update.
Owners, however, of low-end handsets, like the Desire 310, HTC Desire 526G and other models which run KitKat will not be given Lollipop or Marshmallow updates. Meanwhile, as the unlocked One M9 was also targeted for a December Android M update, the industry observer surmised that the current iteration will also be the first in line to receive an Android 6.01 update early next year.
A few weeks back, Telus Mobility, one of Canada’s three biggest carriers announced software update for One M8 and One M9.
