You Can Now Import Rock Band 3’s Soundtrack Into Rock Band 4
Luke is Games Editor at IGN’s Sydney office, where the last Rock Band 4 session ended at 2am (after nine consecutive hours). Harmonix also discussed one of the most requested features for the game, the online multiplayer.
In a detailed blog post, Harmonix described its effort to be more transparent between development and the community.
One feature that could take some time before coming to Rock Band 4 is online multiplayer.
“Adding this functionality is very much on the table but we’re not yet sure where it fits in our roadmap”, Sussman added. Xbox One makes the process a bit easier, taking out a couple of steps, such as individually clicking each download link for each song. These include set lists and practice mode. The developer is making song exports a priority for the month, first bringing songs from the original Rock Band over, with Rock Band 2 and Lego Rock Band to follow.
Looking ahead to the future of Rock Band 4 on their website, developer Harmonix said the November and December updates are just the beginning, “and we remain committed to supporting Rock Band 4 as a game you’ll play for years to come with ongoing updates, fixes, and new features”.
Rock Band 4’s December patch brought multiple features, including variable “Breakneck” speed and Brutal Mode.
“Online play with Rock Band is a big deal given the amount of different combinations of player (four potential instruments, different difficulties, song affinities between players, etc.)”.
“For any feature development, especially features that have existed in our legacy Rock Band games, we want to be able to improve and refine wherever possible”.
