A man is dead following a stabbing in downtown Toronto near the Ryerson University campus.
Investigators believe Nimoh, who is known to police, may have tried to rob Ernsting.
According to a video posted on the OICR website, Ernsting was a senior biomedical engineer in the institute’s drug discovery program and was working on nano technology to better deliver tumor-targeting drugs. “We are deeply saddened by this senseless, tragic event”.
Interim Ryerson president Mohamed Lachemi notified the community in an email this afternoon.
He was charged with second-degree murder and appeared in court Wednesday.
