Gerrard scores on MLS debut
Former Liverpool midfielder, Steven Gerrard, marked his MLS debut with a goal and an assist in La Galaxy’s 5-2 win over San Jose Earthquakes.
Gerrard featured in two non-league matches earlier this week. Keane’s 30th-minute penalty kick and Gerrard’s debut goal seven minutes later left the score tied 2-2 at halftime.
Though in a new country with a new club, Gerrard hasn’t forgotten about his childhood club. Husidic then played a cross to Keane, who buried his shot.
While Robbie Keane was the real hero for Galaxy, scoring a hat-trick, Gerrard stole the headlines for his captivating performance. Imagine what it’ll be like when they’re back and Giovani Dos Santos is in the lineup.
“We had that chemistry at Liverpool”. His first goal came in the 22nd minute when he netted the ball at the mouth of the goal off of misdirection on a free kick.

Gerrard said he was reveling in the resumption of his partnership with former Liverpool team-mate Keane. “I don’t want to give too much away for tomorrow but I’ll be ready to play in whatever position the manager asks me to play”.
“I was determined not to become a squad player”.
“I didn’t feel my best to be honest with you, I was getting sick all day today at home”, Keane recalled.
