Yesterday a leaked roadmap revealed HTC’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow plans.
If you’re one of the many people waiting for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the LG G3 there’s promising news today. The new update is expected to bring many new unbelievable features, even though it’s an incremental update over Lollipop, states Android Headlines.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is already running on a bunch of smartphones that have been released a few months ago, after coming installed on Google’s Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. With the Android Marshmallow update, you will be able to use your SD card as an extension of the internal storage of your phone rather than being able to use it only for media files. Moto X Style was the first to get the update last month, and now the update has also started seeding to Moto X (2014)handsets in India, AndroidCentral reports. Until then, don’t hesitate to head down to your phone’s settings menu (assuming you own an LG G3) and try triggering the OTA update manually.
The Moto X Style packs a 5.7-inch 1440p Quad HD display that boasts front-facing speakers, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset and 3 GB in RAM.
Another flagship device, the LG G4 is set to receive the Android update in the recent future.
There have been rumors that the LG G3 would get the Android Marshmallow update by this Friday the 18th of December, of course this has not been confirmed by LG as yet.
The unlocked LG G4 will reportedly receive the update starting from the beginning of the next year.
There have been no official announcements from LG regarding the Marshmallow update for the LG G4 as of yet.
Android users will be well versed in the issues of receiving an update to their device and its dependency on manufacturers and carriers to make newer versions of the system available to their devices, although it is slowly changing.
