Rapper Azealia Banks arrested

Rapper Azealia Banks, who has been known to get rowdy, was arrested Wednesday morning just after midnight for punching and biting a security guard in a very intimate area.

She’s accused of biting the boob of a female security guard outside a Manhattan hotspot early December 16, and now she’s staring down assault charges.

NYPD reports that the rapper “became verbally abusive and began to push the victim and bit victim on the breast causing swelling and redness”. When security approached, Banks allegedly, “spit in the [female bouncer’s] face”, a spy said.

‘There was a female security guard and a male guard, ‘ the source said, adding that neither recognised the singer, who’s rumoured to have collaborated with Rihanna on her forthcoming album. “You needed a stamp to get in”.

The series of highly-publicized and public tantrums started in September this year, though, when Banks got into an altercation with a Delta flight attendant upon exiting her flight, People Magazine reported. The source, who claims the bouncers “didn’t recognize Banks”, says the rapper was “screaming at the top of her lungs, cursing about who she was and that she was on Rihanna’s album”. Her tirade alienated many of her gay fans, but others chose to turn the other cheek and accept the fact that a young artist under pressure and scrutiny makes mistakes, and can learn from them.

Meanwhile, the outspoken rap star returned to the front of the club with police, where she is alleged to have punched the female bouncer before being taken away by law enforcement officers.

When the 212 hit maker tried to enter the private downstairs party and was told to go back upstairs to get the stamp, a brawl broke out with the bouncers.

Some in the industry are wondering if Banks can learn from her mistakes, however.
