Google celebrates Ludwig van Beethoven’s 245th year with a doodle
Luding van Beethoven was a famous German music composer and is said to be the most…
Today, on the 245th birth anniversary of one of the legendary music composers, Ludwig van Beethoven, the search engine has a puzzled, yet an interesting musical wonder in store for its users.
While the exact birthday of Beethoven isn’t completely sure, today’s date of 17 December is widely considered the day chosen in his absence, much like a certain religious figure who will be celebrating his 2,015 birthday next week.
Beethoven (utilising a ear trumpet to hear this) rushes out to the symphony hall, when his foot suddenly gets stuck on something sticky.
You can move on to the next symphony if only you can arrange the musical notes in the right order. And if you were curious enough to go ahead and play the game, you might have come across a puzzle. For those needing the Beethoven Google Doodle answers, they are just in your head – listen to the music then piece the parts together correctly until you have the correct line of the song.
Born into a family of profession musicians, Beethoven’s father observed his talent for the piano and tried to make him a prodigy like Mozart but couldn’t succeed. By his 30’s however he would lose his hearing, but would continue composing music. Many even believe that it was this that gave him the emotional ammunition to compose the greatest work of his life like the Moonlight Sonata and the Für Elise.
“Three years before Ludwig van Beethoven shook his great fist at the thunder & lightning raging outside his window and fell back dead on his bed, his Ninth (last) Symphony was given its first performance in Vienna”.
