Dwight Howard not seeking trade, though free agency seen as likely
There is the backdrop for word that Miami is interested in acquiring Sacramento center DeMarcus Cousins and Houston’s Dwight Howard.
Howard quickly and predictably disputed the report following the Rockets’ loss to the Kings in Sacramento Tuesday night. A long, odd day ended amid a jarring gap between great expectations and harsh reality. They desperately want to get back into the title picture soon, while Wade is still in something resembling his prime. People are always going to make up lies and rumors to get off. But I haven’t said nothing about anything to anybody.
“Things are coming easier since I’ve had that experience knowing there is a flow to the game that you have to figure out, the pace”, Russell said after scoring 19 points and leading the team with seven assists against Milwaukee.
It’s time to come to terms with the idea that this ship is not going to right itself. He made his first All-Star team last season while averaging 24.1 points and 12.7 rebounds per game, but the Kings might willing to deal him because discord with management. We’ve just got to be better together.
So if the Rockets are going to trade him, it’s going to have to be for a big man who can step in immediately and be one of the best players on the team right off the bat.
The Rockets are underachieving just a year after advancing to the Western Conference Finals and Howard has taken a clear backseat on the offensive side of things in Houston.
“I’m not really listening to all that other stuff”, Whiteside said. He’s putting up just 8.3 shots per game, the same amount he put up his rookie season and well below his 11.1 FGA per game throughout his career. I trust Dwight. He hasn’t misled me at any point since I’ve known him, since I’ve been working with him. “Howard being unhappy would push it even further”. Unfortunately for Dwight, he has to live through it and try to get his team focused and energized on a nightly basis.
From a financial standpoint, Dwight Howard should definitely opt out of his contract with the Houston Rockets.

Amick wrote that Howard, who signed with Houston as a free agent in 2013, is widely expected to become a free agent again this summer. Plus they would also have to deal with some future free agency scenarios that might affect their roster big time. However, ESPN.com is reporting that the team is having discussions around Jones to see what kind of offers they can get for the young star, but the front office officials favor no deal getting done.
