Varun And Kriti Explain Why You Should Watch SRK-Kajol’s ‘Dilwale

Was it intimidating working opposite two of Bollywood’s biggest stars?

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan rules millions of hearts. And I would like to appeal to the people to please do not believe those few individuals that are saying that since my film is releasing, I am here talking about this. I may come out as more talkative in public.

The film was nearly as old as they are: “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”, or “The Brave-Hearted Will Take Away the Bride”, opened in 1995. Now that’s an experience which money can’t buy. The show, which is going to air on December 18 will be the first time in the history of Bigg Boss when Shah Rukh will visit the sets to promote his film.

It is quite apparent that the film has you as a regular guy with a brother who has a larger than life past to boast of. It’s got a lot of comedy and fun in it, of course.

Varun: I was an assistant director on My Name is Khan [2010], which starred both of them, so I already knew them in that way. I don’t want to say anything other than this.

Are you looking forward to the UAE debut?

Ideal combination of drama, love & action in dilwale style. But sometimes, people quote out of context. “Only then will you be in a position of choice to do what you wish to do”, said Khan, who cited his career as a case in point. Now to be acting alongside him must be something, right?

The evergreen duo: Kajol along with Shah Rukh Khan have delivered some mammoth hits in the past, and their on screen chemistry is a real treat to watch. I comprehend that these things don’t have any impact… I am sure Salman is also busy. So that fear went on in the first day itself went. Shah Rukh said despite what people perceive about him and Ajay, the two actors are always there for each other in the time of crisis. Anyone implying the opposite has either not seen my interview or is deliberately trying to distort what I have said.

Did you also converse with Shah Rukh Khan around your own career progression so far? .

His enduring success makes him an appropriate speaker on leadership, the subject of his talk to the audience comprising IIM alumni. That’s what he taught me.
