Warriors winning streak ends with 108-95 loss to Bucks
Golden State may start to worry less about the regular season with their winning streak snapped and start to worry about the postseason.
The Milwaukee Bucks ended the Golden State Warriors’ undefeated season on Saturday night, and now a fan will have a chance to own the game ball.
Although the defending National Basketball Association champions have not lost a regular-season game since April 7, Saturday night’s result was not hugely surprising.
After the Warriors’ run surpassed 20 games, some started to wonder when (and even if) the Golden State Warriors would lose a game this season. Even when Wilt was averaging 50 points a game in 1961-62, his team didn’t win ALL its games. Curry leads the league in points per game with 32.5. “Thirty three wins was within our grasp”. They also halted the Los Angeles Lakers’ 33 game winning streak with a team that was powered by Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West, back in 1972, still the longest winning streak in major professional sports history. Klay Thompson returned after missing a game because of his sprained ankle.
“For us, we didn’t talk about the streak”, said Kidd. That’s why it is so hard to do what these guys have done so far.
“The schedule and the road trip kind of caught up with us”. The team consumed 149 days since the season started without losing not until they played against the Bucks.
The Warriors trailed by 59-48 at half time, the fourth time this season that Golden State trailed at the half.
Both clubs were playing the back end of consecutive Friday-Saturday contests.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a triple-double for the Brewers, which shot as a team just a shade under 50% from the field and drained six-of-14 three-point attempts. Looking down their list of opponents, the lowly Milwaukee Bucks didn’t seem like the team that would end the historic roll.
“We never wavered”, Monroe said. “Come on, we can beat them”. With a huge win in front of a packed house, this could be positive momentum that pushes the Bucks in the right direction and turns their season around.

Reigning NBA MVP Curry paced the Warriors’ attack with a team-high 28 points in front of a crowd of 18,700 at Harris Bradley Center arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“But our goal was always to get better each and every time we get on the floor, whether that’s practice or whether that is in the game. I would be cheating the situation, I would be cheating the progress by worrying about a Christmas Day game when we’re not there yet”, James said.
Draymond Green described the streak as “pretty cool”, but also felt a bit of relief. So the Warriors’ streak displaced Miami’s mark as the second-longest winning streak overall, but it remains third behind the Heat’s run when you compare in-season winning streaks. Who is going to stop them? “Like if you start off bad, it feels like by the time you wake up, the game’s over”. The difference about playing on the road, and it sounds like the ultimate no-shit truism, is that you don’t get to go home after a game like that. “Now we can focus on what we need to”, he said. “Nobody wanted it to end”, he said. “But tonight it didn’t go our way”.
