Student slashed in face as she walks to school in Queens
Police said that ‘an unknown male suspect approached a 16-year-old female from behind and slashed her with a box cutter causing an injury to her left cheek and throat.
“She’s slashed in her face twice, once from ear to her throat, to the middle of her throat and another part of her face as well”, said NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce. “There was so much blood”, she said. Her brother and sister were by her side Wednesday at the hospital, where she was treated for nonlife-threatening wounds, according to police.
– A girl on her way to school was slashed across her throat in Whitestone, Queens, said police. “There’s no excuse for a young girl who’s going to school to be attacked, and they shouldn’t feel fearful”, state Assemblyman Ron Kim said.
Her aunt told the New York Post: “This is bad”. “We hope he gets caught”. “She was carrying a cup of hot chocolate”. “She doesn’t know the man”, she said. In a video footage of the incident, his face is not visible because of the hoodie he was wearing. You couldn’t really see his face.

Police tape is now among the Christmas decorations on a quiet street in Whitestone as police hunt for the suspect, who was seen on home security video.

The suspect was described as possibly being in his 20s and wearing a surgical mask, white gloves, and a grey hooded sweatshirt with black stripes on the sleeves.
