Mom sinks half court shot, wins daughter tuition
The underhanded shot initially fell short before bouncing into the basket, winning Ramey half off her daughter’s $8,000 tuition.
Angela Ramey and her daughter, Grace, pulled off the unthinkable at Bethany Academy in Bloomington earlier this month.
So together, Mom and daughter took turns missing the first two attempts badly.
The unbelieveable half-court alley-oop shot and Angela’s shocked reaction when she realizes the ball went in the basket! I bounced the ball. As long as it went in, the Ramey family was a victor.
“I was like my gosh made it in!” The Ramey’s won the chance for the half-court/half-tuition prize by being the family who raised the most money during the school’s fundraiser. “That’s incredible!” Grace said.
“GMA” gave Ramey the opportunity to make a basketball shot again, and also announced that the show will make a donation to a children’s hunger charity. Their effort earned them one half-court basketball shot and a chance at half-price tuition for 2016.
Even without the pressure, Ramey made the shot live on “GMA”, leading to more screams. Watch this video posted on the Bethany Academy Facebook page.
