Google’s annual list of the year’s most searched people also included Charlie Sheen, Brian Williams Rachel Dolezal, Adele and Josh Duggar in the top 10.

Elizabeth II, who became the longest reigning British monarch, was in the top five for the year, while the birth of Duchess Catherine’s baby Princess Charlotte made the top 10. In the global search list, the attacks on the French satire magazine Charlie Hebdo ranked second followed by a mobile game called “Agar.io” that lets people devour cells in a virtual petri dish. Also hitting the political figures trends list were disgraced former national police commissioner Jackie Selebi and DA leader Mmusi Maimane.
Meanwhile, Jurassic World fans were out in full force on Google in 2015, with the movie claiming the No. 2 spot on Google’s list.
The bad (middle-aged) boy of television caused a stir in 2015 when he was dropped from Top Gear in March after punching one of the show’s producers. And Google notes that it did garner more than 155 million searches during the month of December in the US alone.
Rounding out the list was video game Fallout 4 and film Straight Outta Compton.

The trending global news searches include the Islamic State, Paris attacks, Russia’s airstrikes in Syria, Singapore’s founding father Lee Kuan Yew, who passed away in March, and the Nepal quake that killed more than 9,000 in April.
In a year of Caitlyn Jenner, dinosaurs and the Paris terror attacks, it was the death of Cilla Black that dominated Google searches in 2015. The most searched-for politician, perhaps unsurprisingly, was Jeremy Corbyn, with Donald Trump down in eighth. They wanted to know who Pepe the Frog was, a more serious search after the popular meme was used on a 4chan thread that was examined by federal law enforcement officials in October in connection with a shooting at a community college in Oregon.
More than half of this year’s top Google searches were sports related. Weight loss is another popular topic, as people searched for the calorie counts of their favorite unhealthy snacks.
