Ex-Real Madrid GM Sacchi: There’s no team culture there
Arigo Sacchi sorely believes individual brilliance is the priority and not teamwork in Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane is set to replace Rafa Benitez as the Real Madrid coach.
Following on from reports in Spanish paper Marca on Tuesday, French sports daily L’Equipe said on Wednesday that Real Madrid were ready to turn to Zidane if the side suffer another defeat soon.
“We’re conceding fewer goals, but we’ve had chances and haven’t found the target”.
The Frenchman, usually reserved, which he must overcome in the future, is focused on leading Real Madrid Castilla to promotion in the Segunda Division again.
“Rafa clearly won’t just say James is incredible player, one of best in world”. “It would be a bit premature to change manager”.
An El Clasico hammering set the tone for frustration among Los Blancos fans – and that was followed in the next month by a Copa del Rey gaffe as they fielded an ineligible player and were subsequently thrown out of the competition.
Rafael Benitez’s position at Real Madrid has come under threat as it has been claimed that president Florentino Perez has not ruled out sacking the Spaniard before the end of the season.
As reported after the game by 90min, Benitez said, “It’s a league season in which teams are going to drop points”.
But he noted that Pep Guardiola had successfully graduated from B team to first-team manager at Barcelona and that it was good that Real had the former France worldwide as an option.
