Vladimir Putin: Donald Trump Is ‘Talented,’ ‘Bright Personality’
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday described US Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump as “talented” and “outstanding”, welcoming his stance on Russia.
‘We believe that only the Syrian people can decide who should govern them, ‘ Putin told an annual news conference, saying Moscow would continue its air strikes in Syria for as long as the Syrian army continued its own military operations.
“He’s a very colorful person”.
He warned that it’s not his place “to judge his virtue, that is up to the United States voters, but he is the absolutely leader of the presidential race”.
“He says he will want to reach another, deeper, level of relations (with Russia)”.
“We never said there were no people there who were carrying out certain tasks including in the military sphere”, Putin told an annual news conference.
Vladimir Putin has many titles, including President of Russian Federation and King of Getty Images. “And I don’t think you’d be having the kind of problems that you’re having right now”.
He accused Turkey of carrying out “a hostile act” when it destroyed a Russian Su-24 bomber on the Turkish-Syrian border in late November. “And I’m sure that Obama doesn’t like him very much”, said Trump.
After the main part of the Q&A session was over, Putin was asked about his attitude towards Donald Trump.
Putin has had an icy relationship with President Barack Obama since he returned to the Russian presidency in 2012.
According to a different translation, Putin also dubbed Trump “flamboyant”.
Putin, who met U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry earlier this week, said at the news conference that Moscow supports a U.S. draft of a U.N. Security Council resolution on Syria. “I would get along with him”. Trump added: “I would talk to him”.
Putin speculated on the possibility of Turkey and the USA reaching an agreement to down a Russian aircraft November 25 when it entered Turkish airspace and then let Turkey invade and occupy Iraq while America look the other way. Even if they’re telling the truth when they say they didn’t know whose plane it was, what should you do in that situation? “They are not involved in business or politics” and shun the spotlight, he said.
