There is nothing to hide and will face the law – Actor Simbu
With several prominent celebrities severely criticizing and many women welfare organizations protesting against Simbu’s act of crooning the “beep song”, which houses abusive lyrics, targeting women, the issues surrounding the latest controversy is getting bigger with each passing day.
The Madras High Court today refused to stay the summons issued by police to Tamil film actor Silambarasan, popularly known as Simbu, and music director Anirudh Ravichander over a controversial song allegedly denigrating women.
The controversy over the “beep song”, which reportedly rendered by him headed to a next level on social networking sites, with the reports that he has fled away to secret location to escape from the arrest under non-bailable charges for rendering the song degrading the women.
Admitting the motion, the judge took up the criminal original petition for hearing and directed notice to the Inspector of Police, Race Course Police Station, Coimbatore, returnable by January 4, 2016.
Also the summons were given to Anirudh’s father Ravi Raghavendra, since the music composer is yet to return from Toronto where he had gone to participate in a live show last week.
Simbu has been asked to appear before police in Coimbatore on December 19 for an inquiry with regard to the song.
Dubbed “beep song”, the audio clipping was apparently leaked from the personal collection of the actor and uploaded on various social media portals.
