Obama to visit San Bernardino to meet with victims’ families – White House
President Barack Obama is planning to pay a visit to San Bernardino, Calif., on Friday to meet with families of victims in a recent mass shooting.
The president will make a brief detour en route to his family’s Hawaiian holiday vacation to visit with victims and families, similar to his visit to Roseburg, Oregon after a deadly shooting there in October.
The FBI continues to investigate the December 2 terror attack, which also left 22 people injured. The couple was killed during a subsequent shootout with police.
Federal authorities on Friday charged Enrique Marquez for providing material support to Farook and Malik.
Obama visited the Pentagon on Monday, where he convened a high-profile meeting of his National Security Council to review his administration’s anti-ISIS strategy and further explain it to Americans.
Obama will seek to put the finishing touches on legacy items like his plan to curb USA carbon emissions and the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, while trying to made headway on criminal justice reforms, the officials told reporters on Thursday.
He and Farook also planned to attack a state highway during peak hour with pipe bombs and shoot at law enforcement and emergency crews as they arrived.
Obama’s visit to Southern California was added to his previously scheduled trip to Hawaii, where he and the first family will celebrate Christmas, as has been their tradition during his presidency.
