Instagram Web Interface Gets a New Search Bar
Given Instagram‘s ever-growing popularity, the only surprise about this move is that it took so long to implement. Users can enjoy the features they love on the app like searching hashtags, profile, and locations on the desktop version of Instagram. Recently, Instagram introduced a much easier-on-the-eyes design and started storing high-res images, and today it’s finally allowing you to search for images.
Greg Finn is the Director of Marketing for Cypress North, a company that provides world-class social media and search marketing services and web & application development. Although Instagram remains primarily focused on mobile, it’s been expanding its desktop presence in recent months.
It’s not unexpected though.
The feature now also fits perfectly with changes made by the Instagram service to its Web interface.
Keep in mind Instagram began rolling out a sharper, faster website to all 300 million-plus users in early June.
In the absence of web search, several third-party alternatives have popped up over the years, such as Websta and FindGram. Famous brands and celebrities are using Instragram now to promote events or offer regular updates on their activities. It only stands to reason, considering their popularity and vast development opportunities with Facebook as its owner.
Inside the app, Instagram does a specific number of things very well. It’s simple, creative and promotes interaction above all.
