Barbara Walters Names Caitlyn Jenner “Most Fascinating Person of 2015”
Barbara Walters named Caitlyn Jenner the “Most Fascinating Person of 2015” for her annual ABC special, which aired Thursday.
Our choice for the most fascinating person of the year was once called the world’s greatest athlete.
We can only guess the interview will touch on Caitlyn’s journey in learning about transgender issues, her contentious relationship with activists who feel she has a lot more learning to do, and the way in which she’s handled her newfound titles as the most visible and discussed trans activist today. At the point when Bruce Jenner won it in 1976, it was a big achievement. It had everybody talking. “At the point when Bruce Jenner got to be Caitlyn Jenner, there was a seismic movement in the sexual orientation universe”.
“For years and years, I never felt like I fit it anywhere”. “I never felt good in the male side, and I wasn’t, obviously, in the female side. I was somewhat stuck in the center”.
Walters was initially irreverent in her discussions of Jenner’s contributions to 2015, mocking her “heroic feats involving hair extensions and eye makeup” on her show, I Am Cait.
“Maybe this is why God put me on this Earth”, Caitlyn told the audience at the Glamour awards.
Walters concluded: “Famous and familiar, she raised awareness and acceptance of transgender people”.
Caitlyn Jenner transformed society, Walters said, and that’s why she is joining the ranks of Jackie Onassis, Princess Diana, Hillary Clinton and Amal Clooney as the most fascinating person of the year.
The list also included Amy Schumer, Misty Copeland, Bradley Cooper, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Ronda Rousey, Donna Karan and Tracy Morgan.
