Breaking down Klay Thompson’s 27-point quarter, Warriors’ win at Suns
After struggling mightily in the loss at Milwaukee in his first game back from a sprained ankle, Thompson caught fire and was 15 for 22 from the field. “I raised my hand. We’ve got to go there and hold our own”.
Injuries slowed the once-amazing moves that made Bryant one of the league’s most spectacular superstars.
Stephen Curry added 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting and seven assists as Golden State returned home from its two-week trip that ended with its lone defeat, 108-95 on Saturday night at Milwaukee.
The Warriors were not playing their best ball towards the end of that 24-game winning streak.
Thompson, who is coming off his first 40-point game of the season, said Carter-Williams acting like a UFC fighter at a weigh-in was a bit much. “But obviously if it offended some of our guys, then I’m OK with it. It’ll be one more reason to be motivated to go out there and win the ballgame”.
Klay Thompson scored a season-high 43 points in three quarters and hit eight 3-pointers.
The Golden State Warriors continue to astound this season.
“They have a lot of length, and defensively they make it tough if you’re not willing to push yourself to making the extra cut, making the hard screen and executing the offense”.
And they have been winning ever since, even though coach Steve Kerr missed the record start of the 2015-16 season with back pain and illness and assistant Luke Walton guided Golden State’s historic run.
Bring on the Bucks. The Golden State Warriors tuned up on Wednesday for the only team that has beaten them this National Basketball Association (NBA) season by blowing away the Phoenix Suns 128-103. Unfortunately for the Suns, they were on the schedule for a Warriors team that was well-rested and looking forward to tasting victory again.
Carter-Williams was back in the Bucks starting lineup Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers and has played well in recent games.
In San Antonio, Kawhi Leonard scored 27 points as the Spurs set a club record with their 23rd straight home victory, rolling past Washington. The Bucks are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Golden State and 8-2-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.
New York Knicks 107, Minnesota Timberwolves 102: Arron Afflalo scored 29 points, including four free throws in the final 10 seconds, while Carmelo Anthony added 20 with 15 rebounds and nine assists, as the Knicks (12-14) sent the visiting T-Wolves to their fourth straight loss after almost blowing a 22-point third quarter cushion.
Bulls 98, Grizzlies 85: Jimmy Butler finished with 24 points, Derrick Rose scored 19 and Chicago beat Memphis. The point guard totaled 17 points, seven assists and five steals against Golden State. Jeremy Lamb led the Hornets with 16 points. Boston’s Isaiah Thomas matched his career high of 38 points.
