CBI being asked to target opposition: Arvind Kejriwal

Mr Jaitley also attacked West Bengal and Bihar CMs Mamata Banerjee and Nitish Kumar for supporting Mr Kejriwal, saying “they need to redeem themselves” by publicly distancing from the Delhi CM’s vocabulary.

BJP leader Nupur Sharma said that the CBI conducted the raid on the orders of a court and not the government.

Referring to the controversy raked up by Kejriwal over the CBI action against his principal secretary Rajendra Kumar, he accused the Chief Minister of resorting to “false propaganda continuously”.

“The chief minister raised two pleas”.

“The CBI categorically denies having seized any material during searches that are not relevant to its investigation”.

The government on Friday challenged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to reveal the name of his source in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) who had informed him that the agency has been asked to target all those opposed to the NDA regime. “CBI raids my office”. Kumar is suspected of criminal conspiracy and criminal misconduct over allegations he helped award government contracts to a favored company while he worked with the Delhi government.

AAP leader Ashutosh alleged that Jaitley lied on the floor of the House and this warrants a privilege motion against him and the government.
