DSK Benelli plans three launches in 2016
Meanwhile, the company has launched its most affordable bike till date, the DSK Benelli TNT 25 at a price of Rs 1.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The only difference between standard and premium version is tires- MRF tires for the standard an the more sticker Metzler tires for the premium version. Both variants get alloy wheels and 110/70-17 section tyres at the front and 150/60-17 section tyres at the rear.
Mr Sirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Motowheels said, “The TNT 25 stands out through its Italian flair, ergonomic perfection and ultimately the exceptional performance it offers”. The TNT 25 comes with a price tag of R1.68 lakh with standard and premium variants on offer.
The brand is now sold via 15 dealerships, and the company plans to boost this number to 25 dealerships in next one year. These models were commercially launched in March 2015 across nine dealerships then.
The Benelli TNT 25 packs 28.16 bhp at 9,800 rpm and 20.61 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The TNT 25 is the only DSK Benelli motorcycle in the Indian market which is powered by a single-cylinder engine and is also the least expensive offering from the Italian brand.
For the first time ever, Benelli also introduced its new range of race inspired helmets with “Bellissimo Italiano” design and safety features, keeping in mind the essential needs of the modern racer and allowing him to become one with the helmet, further enhancing his overall style and safety quotient. Despite being 50cc smaller than the engine found in the Mahindra Mojo, the engine of the Benelli TNT 25 produces more power than its competitor.
For the ongoing financial year, DSK Benelli is targeting to sell close to 2,000 units of the Benelli motorcycles on sales in India. To meet this target, DSK Motowheels is setting up a new assembly plant near Pune.
The Benelli TNT 25 will be a CKD offering and is going to make life tougher for competition like Honda CBR 250R, the KTM 200 twins, Mahindra Mojo.
