Star Wars fans in Winnipeg ‘beyond excited’ to see The Force Awakens
A strong opening day for the seven installment of the Star Wars franchise. The elegant 88-year-old Pickwick Theater in Park Ridge is set to welcome 900 fans Thursday night and hopefully for showings throughout the weekend. “I’ve been waiting a long time since Return of the Jedi”, said White. We got our tickets back in October and I’ve just been bursting ever since. “Even his sisters wanted to sell their tickets – he said ‘no'”.
The veteran actor, 73, has released a heartfelt plea to moviegoers not to divulge information about the new film to fellow fans – to allow them to enjoy it themselves. “Everybody is really excited for this showing of Star Wars“.
When George Lucas released the second trilogy – marketed as a prequel to the original trilogy – in 1999, none of the original actors were cast.
“The line is going to be awful for the 8 o’clock show as well”.
Of course, now I’m going to be disappointed when Kylo Ren’s lightsaber doesn’t actually have a catch phrase, but at least I didn’t see any important plot spoilers before I see the movie tonight.
It wasn’t just Tice who came dressed in character. “This is myth – I like to think of “Star Wars” as part of like the “Batman, ‘ ‘Superman, ‘ Marvel; America is a relatively young country and these are our stories”, said Nicholas Sarantos”.
“This has been a three-year process to get it the way it looks now”, he said of his costume.
Avid fans dressed in costumes have and will be turned away from the many cinemas that enforce this policy. It’s here, and people in the valley have been lining up to see it.
