Meek Mill: Rapper might be heading to jail in February
In the end, the judge found him guilty of parole violations. As previously reported, Mill was found guilty Thursday of violating his probation and could face time behind bars.
Following the ruling, the judge set Meek’s sentencing hearing for February 2016 and ordered him to stay within a 5-county distance of Philly until she decides his fate.
Mill told the judge that he’s aware his “whole life is on the line”, and that he has been spending time with his family and girlfriend Nicki Minaj, who testified on Mill’s behalf.
The man born Robert Williams has a famous supporter in his corner: girlfriend Nicki Minaj.
Judge Brinkley, a court attendee tells the Dailymail.com, reminded Nicki that her beau had been given numerous opportunities and still travelled without getting permission last month.
In the Spring 2015 issue of XXL Magazine, the 28-year-old MC opened up about his views on Judge Brinkley when she sentenced him to six months in prison last year. “I’m trying to do better and I feel like I can be the best rapper out there”. The judge I got, she really got a super high potential for me.
“I know, your honor”, he quietly replied”.
The judgement did not go down well with Meek Mill friends, Angie Martinez and Chris Brown shared their support for the rapper.
Meek’s probation stemmed from when he was convicted of gun possession and drug dealing back in 2008, sentenced to 11 to 23 months in prison. “Since I’ve come into his life, I think I’ve been working on that a little bit…”
Minaj, who was in court with her boyfriend, testified in his case, saying: “He doesn’t have a lot of structure”. Reports say that Meek spoke about the heartbreak he endured not being able to see his mother after she underwent surgery in New Jersey because he was so concerned with not violating his travel rules.
DeSantis also cited a November urine sample that a technician alleged Mill either diluted with cold water or used another substance to mask illegal drug use.
