Meek Mill gets love from Kenny Gamble in fight to avoid jail
The lawyer of Robert Rihmeek Williams, the rapper professionally known as Meek Mill, recently talked about the seriousness of his client’s relationship with Onika Tanya Miraj, more popularly known as Nicki Minaj.
Sounding contrite, Mill praised Brinkley for helping him turn his life around, and said he holds her in the same esteem as his mother, grandmother, sister, and girlfriend.
The rapper is expected to testify Thursday afternoon.
He also apologised to the District Attorney for blasting her as a “b**ch” in his diss track The Ride, and he became emotional as he declared, “I’m not a gangsta”. He seemingly spoke from the heart: “I don’t wanna be a criminal”. “I walk around with Queen Nicki”. She found him in “technical violation” of his probation, setting a February 5 date for his sentencing and ruling that he can not leave a five-county area around Philadelphia or perform at any event in or outside Philly.
The hitmaker also promised to ensure Meek fulfils his community service obligations, saying: ‘He’s not flawless but I can’t believe how much he’s changed’.
He’s got the girl, the money, and (arguably) the bars, but Meek just can’t seem to win in 2015. All day. Like, I know everything about law and crime-solving.
“He told me last evening how he respects you”, DeSimone said.
Character witnesses testifying on Meek’s behalf haven’t been able to sway the judge in his favor, TMZ reports.
Meek Mill could go to jail starting early next year. The latest rules required Mill to get travel vouchers before he leaves town and meet with his probation officer in Philadelphia every 60 days.
The 28-year-old artist could face a prison sentence after a judge in Philadelphia ruled that he had breached the conditions of his probation by ignoring travel restrictions.
