Slum demolition row: Arvind kejriwal says ‘Rahul Gandhi is still a kid’
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday called Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi a “kid” after a war of words broke out between the two leaders over the controversial evictions at Shakur Basti.
Meanwhile, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi lashed out at AAP government for not making alternate arrangements for the slum dwellers for their rehabilitation.
Stepping into the demolition row, the high court had came down heavily on the Railway Ministry and police for the drive and directed the authorities to immediately rehabilitate over 5,000 people rendered homeless. Parliamentarians of the Trinamool Congress joined AAP in the protest.
Rahul Gandhi has made a statement to press, “Why is AAP doing Dharna in Parliament?”
The Delhi government said the demolition violated judicial orders, and were carried out without informing it.
No more hutments will be razed in Delhi before its occupants are rehabilitated, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced today after meeting Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
