Congress for Kirti Azad to head JPC on DDCA
After AAP launched a sharp attack on Jaitley, BJP fielded Smriti Irani to mount a counter attack in which she described the charges as a “blasphemous and preposterous campaign bordering on political hysteria” being created to deflect the public attention from a “corrupt officer” working with Delhi Chief Minister Arvin Kejriwal. Hitting back at Kejriwal, FM, on Thursday, said that the Delhi CM is spreading “false propaganda” and defaming him. “By referring to some facts of 2014 and 2015, I can not be dragged”.
AAP alleged huge financial bunglings in DDCA during Jaitley’s 13-year-old tenure as its chief, saying large amounts were siphoned off through fake companies besides other irregularities including in team selection. I want to say that he is lying about his involvement in the irregularities in the DDCA, ” AAP spokesperson Ashutosh flanked by party leaders Sanjay Singh and Dilip Pandey, told a news conference here. “So he should be removed”.
Kejriwal said that Jaitley’s assertion that Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) allegations against him are “unsubstantiated and non-specific” could not be treated as “gospel truth” as the charges against him were “very, very serious”.
Jaitley said Kejriwal doesn’t have legislation to research the DDCA, a business had actually no legislation in purchasing a Fee of Request from the prior Sheila Dikshit government whilst the energy vests using the Main government and authorized under Government of India.
Meanwhile BJP’s National Secretary Srikant Sharma also backed Finance Minister Jaitley, saying no questions can be raised on his integrity after the AAP’s allegations. Kejriwal asked in a series of tweets.
Maken said Jaitley was chairman of DDCA from December 1999 to December 2013 and alleged that the four officers “are known for their proximity” to him. “Price escalations are integrated while function grows”, he explained. “No personal allegation was ever made against me nor did I ever feel the need of contradicting it”, he said yesterday.
BJP and DDCA brass responded to allegations that the cost for refurbishing Kotla escalated from Rs 24 crore to Rs 114 crore, pointing out that the scope of the initial plan was radically revised.
The report points out several embezzlements – from spiking up the spending of a stadium renovation from Rs24 crore to Rs114 crore, to handing over contracts to companies run by DDCA office bearers and to wrongfully lending money to private companies. Did Jaitley know about these fraud companies or not?
“A company named 21st century got kickbacks of Rs 5.5 crore by sub-leasing ten corporate boxes, build inside Firoz Shah Kotla Stadium by the DDCA”.
