Kejriwal continues tirade against Centre for CBI misuse
Challenging Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s statement in parliament that the CBI did not search Kejriwal’s office, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said this was not true.
BJP dismissed as “false and foolish” five questions posed to the finance minister by AAP leader Ashutosh and accused AAP of using “diversionary tactic” to deflect attention from the corruption charges against Kejriwal’s principal secretary Rajendra Kumar.
“The raid was conducted to look for the files of DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association), in which Jaitley is involved in graft cases”, Kejriwal claimed.
Ever since the dramatic event has unfolded, the AAP has been heavily criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party, with Kejrwial even going to term the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “psychopath” and “coward”.
Jitendra Singh, minister of state in the Prime Minister’s Office, criticised Kejriwal for making the allegation.
“I want to make it clear; they said my selection of words was not good, but your actions are bad”. “Can any Chief Minister make such a loose comment?” CBI spokesman Devpreet Singh said searches were conducted with warrants, and that Kejriwal’s office was not searched. In a series of tweets on Thursday, the Delhi CM said, “Can Jaitley ji’s denial in press be taken as gospel truth?” The CBI has denied that Kejriwal’s office, located in secretariat, was searched. There were documents in the chief minister’s office on this, as Mr Kejriwal takes care of all important documents, inquiries and vigilance documents. Kejriwal accusing tagged corruption charges of Jaitley as “very very serious” and said, “He should either resign or be removed to enable independent probe”. “The search-cum-seizure memo containing details of all seized items will be produced before the competent court”, she added.
CBI claimed to have got essential inputs throughout interrogation of senior bureaucrat Rajendra Kumar who was questioned for third consecutive day at this time in a corruption case.
