Parents Pick Up Gifts at Salvation Army
Justice said some of the Angel Tree gifts were not brought in as expected, but he encourages people to donate to the Red Kettle campaign, now going in through Christmas Eve, to make up the difference.

Folks will be manning the red kettles at Harvest Foods in Bigfork, Smith’s Grocery in Columbia Falls and Kalispell, the Super One stores in Evergreen and Whitefish, and at Tamarack Brewing in Lakeside.
In 2014, a widow left her diamond engagement ring in a kettle in Boston in honor of her late husband.
There are many toy drives this time of year, but the Salvation Army Toys and Joys shop has been around for over 100 years.
Nauta said when he says donations are down 22.5 percent as compared to last year, people need to keep in mind that donations were down last year as well.
The Red Kettle Campaign helps the Army serve more than 4 million people in need during the Christmas season – including more than 1 million children – and serves almost 30 million individuals throughout the year. All the money raised stays right here in the Roanoke Valley.
