Meek Mill faces potential prison time over parole violations
According to Complex magazine, a judge ruled that he violated his probation, and he’ll be sentenced in February. Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley said that not only did the rapper break his travel restrictions, but he submitted cold water for a urine drug test. As a result, the Philly MC could face jail time.
Sounding contrite, Mill praised Brinkley for helping him turn his life around, and said he holds her in the same esteem as his mother, grandmother, sister, and girlfriend.
Born Robert Williams, Mill was convicted of a gun charge in 2008 and served time in jail as well as receiving probation.
Mill says he has dropped old friends from his entourage to spend time with his family and girlfriend Nicki Minaj. “I don’t know how u guys always keep track of these things for me but I appreciate u more than you will ever understand”, she wrote, captioning a photo of playlist made up of songs from the album.
Meek then reportedly brokedown and choked up as he explained that he’s tried to turn his life around since then.
(Radio.com) Nicki Minaj testified on Thursday (Dec.10) in Philadelphia, in hopes of keeping her boyfriend Meek Mill out of the slammer.
“I’m not a gangsta”. He seemingly spoke from the heart: “I don’t wanna be a criminal”. “I walk around with Queen Nicki. I’m trying to do better and I feel like I can be the best rapper out there”.
He’s got the girl, the money, and (arguably) the bars, but Meek just can’t seem to win in 2015.
“I know the people who support you really want you to get probation”, she told Meek.
In the end, the judge found him guilty of parole violations.
However, she postponed sentencing until early next year (16) and ordered Mill not to perform any shows or leave Pennsylvania in the meantime.
