‘Star Wars’ fans pack theaters across Houston to see ‘The Force Awakens’
Chauncey DeVega’s fondest childhood memory was waiting outside a CT theater for several hours with his mother to see “Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi” in 1983.
Members of the Capital City Garrison and the Rebel Legion Canadian Base attended the opening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Cineplex Cinemas Lansdowne and VIP on Thursday.
“It was wonderful”, Charles said of the new film.
“That’s going to be our holiday treat”, said DeVega, of Hyde Park. “There is nothing quite like coming into a room filled with kids, and you see their faces light up as they see characters they have only known on the big and small screen coming to life”.

Disney plans to release five more Star Wars movies after this.

He said it was important for him to see the film with his daughter, Kylie Recker, 7, a second-grader at Wernert Elementary School in West Toledo.
Scott and her friend, Shannon Baney, 21, who also had hair like Princess Leia, arrived at the theater at 4 p.m. – three hours before the show. “This is no surprise and while I know that people feel a need, and actually entitled – they want to know, when they want to know it – I was very gratified to hear people say thank-you to Disney for not spoiling everything before it comes out”.
