Former Stone Pilots Front Man Died Of Toxic Mix Of Drugs
Weiland, who was just 48, was found dead on his tour bus outside a hotel in Bloomington Minneapolis on 3 of December leaving the music world in mourning.
According to TMZ, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner has released their toxicology results on Scott Weiland’s death.
At the time of his death, Weiland had cocaine, alcohol and methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA) in his bloodstream. The testing also showed that he had heart disease and asthma, which were classified as significant conditions, but that his “multi-substance dependence” were a contributing factor to his death.
“Our hope for Scott has died, but there is still hope for others”, she wrote. “The former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman’s funeral was held in Los Angeles Thursday, Dec. 10”. The band was known for its guitar-heavy hits “Plush” in 1993 and “Interstate Love Song” the following year.
But addiction dogged Weiland. He would go into rehab and then relapse.
A medical report found, as had been widely expected, that the former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman died after consuming a mix of drugs. The band’s 1992 debut album Core sold eight million copies. “We are angry and sad about this loss, but we are most devastated that he chose to give up”.
