Hundreds line up hours prior to Star Wars premiere
But movie studio Walt Disney Co says millions of tickets are still available this weekend as theaters add capacity to meet demand.
“Look at where I am!” said Jonathan Colon of Bradenton. “We already have people lined up for tonight as well. Do I talk first or do you talk first?” we’re engulfed into the Star Wars galaxy.
As he said that, Jed Chambers, his wife and their three children strolled into the lobby in their favorite Star Wars character.
“I’ve seen it 10, 12 times”.
“It was wonderful”, Charles said of the new film. “It’s pretty exciting for a lot of folks”. The basic structure of the original Star Wars is in place here and followed nearly exactly, which works both as a nostalgic sequel for older fans and a fantastic entry for new ones. The locations and creatures are once again tangible, but more than that, Abrams, screenwriters Lawrence Kasdan and Michael Arndt, and all involved made a film that captures the optimistic and heartfelt spirit of the original trilogy. His duty was to perform a 30-second demonstration of his art form before each Star Wars movie showing. “If Han Solo dies I’ll cry”. Fans walked in with their best “Star Wars” costume, celebrating and preparing themselves before the movie hit screens at 7 p.m.
“My alter ego”, said David Huelse, who was excited to see the premier.
If you are one of those Star Wars fans unfortunate enough to be stuck in front of a computer while the movie event of the decade is on, the force may still be with you.
There will likely be more box office records smashed in the days and weeks to come. “I think it’s fun to be a part of the hype”.
For Gary Douglas, the release of the new movie was special for a different reason. Now, almost 40 years later, he was able to attend the premiere with his mother and his daughter.
“I told her not to go through the crew like wildfire, but I also told her not to take any advice from me”, she said.
Perhaps more astronomical are the box-office expectations for the new movie, directed by J.J. They plan to celebrate by seeing the movie afterward. The latter can be fairly nerve-racking going into a movie needing to be so epic to satisfy us but he left us with an appropriate amount (see: ridiculous amount) of questions for the future while also telling Episode VII’s story in its entirety. “It’s been really great to see folks taking pledges not to post spoilers”.
