James Collins targeting run in West Ham side

Carroll is a player who is always desperate to play but with West Ham tired of him having a lengthy absence it would appear they have taken the decision out of his hands on this occasion.

James Tomkins says West Ham need to use Swansea’s poor form to their advantage when they meet in the Premier League.

“But the Swansea players will be up for it”.

Carroll has hurt Swansea regularly in the past, scoring three goals in two games against them last season while setting up a Kevin Nolan double in a 2-0 Hammers’ victory at Upton Park in the previous campaign. Maybe the two of them will play together.

“I get some stick down there which is understandable”, he said.

The money spent on transfers at Stamford Bridge makes relegation hard to envision for a club that won the Champions League just three-and-a-half years ago and claimed last season’s Premier League so convincingly.

“It’s insane to see, the quality in that team, at the bottom of the league”, Carroll told Sky Sports of Chelsea’s struggles.

“We deserved better than that but that is the difference between teams at the top and the bottom, that bit of luck”.

Swansea will be without a permanent manager for the second consecutive fixture following the departure of Garry Monk.

‘I’m looking forward to seeing them and hopefully getting one over on them on Sunday’.

“The bonding, the quality and the character we have showed are positive, of course, so I’m really confident for Sunday’s game”.
