Star Wars: The Force Awakens, review: ‘Fun but frivolous’
However, there was a time when Ford thought that the character of Han Solo should have been killed off from the beloved franchise.
While dishing on his love for the sci-fi adventure, the late night host revealed Harrison Ford nearly didn’t return to the role of Han Solo!
“I don’t think of Star Wars as science fiction, really”.
Boyega – who plays lead character Finn – took upon himself to take the Han Solo star to the neighborhood where her grew up in Peckham to show him some “London culture”. Even if you haven’t seen the original movies this movie is great. It’s well beyond my understanding or control and I want nothing to do with it, in the nicest possible way.
The film opens on a desert planet, just like the original did, and has a seemingly ordinary young person Rey (Ridley) stumbling upon a droid that contains vital information, just like Luke did in the first film. Disney paid just over $4 billion to buy Lucas Films, which make Star Wars, three years ago.
The actor broke his left leg in the June 2014 incident. Achieving recognition in other universes before the typecasting had fully set in may have helped – his appearances as “Indy” and Deckard fell between the Star Wars titles.
“It’s like going back to a high school reunion or something and finding out that, you know, there’s still people from that experience that you have a warm feeling about”, Ford said.
“We’re hoping a couple of ideas that are floating around will gel and I know Steven is interested so hopefully it will happen”. I’m glad that somebody else is going to have the burden of being young.
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and pop star Jess Glynne also dropped in for a chat.
