One injured in Madison, Wisconsin mall shooting
The East Towne Mall in Madison, Wisconsin, was closed after the gun was pulled and police were called.
Multiple shots were reported to have been fired inside the mall between Boston Store and the Hallmark store at around 2:50 p.m. local time, but police do not believe an active gunman is on the premises, Franco said.
Several people involve in the fight have been taken into custody by police but the suspect has not yet been identified, Ofc.
Joel DeSpain, a spokesman for the Madison police said police were still looking for a suspect.
The 19-year-old has been hospitalized and is being treated for a non-life-threatening wound, according to a statement from the Madison Police Department.
Police said 10 people became involved in a fight.
A notice posted on its website says: “The mall is temporarily closed due to a safety concern”.
Another Madison shopping center, West Towne Mall, was locked down in February after two gangs got into a dispute which ended in gunfire outside the mall, according to the State Journal. She said she was told by store employees that a shooting occurred about 25 feet away from the store front. “No one was aware of what had happened, we had all heard a loud noise”.
