Trump Slams Hillary Over Voter-Data Spat With Bernie Sanders
The Sanders campaign on Friday filed a lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee in a federal court to restore its access to the voter data.
Clinton questioned the affordability of some of Sanders’ proposals such as creation of a single-payer healthcare system and tuition-free college, suggesting these plans would lead to higher taxes on working families.
“We are pleased that the Sanders campaign has agreed to submit to an independent audit to determine the full extent of the intrusion its staff carried out earlier this week”, Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon said in a statement. “I want to apologize to my supporters”, Sanders said Saturday at the outset of the Democratic debate in Manchester, N.H.
Sanders was contrite, Clinton, the former Secretary of State, urged moving on.
The 74-year-old presidential hopeful did however call for “getting rid” of Assad in the long-term.
“Regime change is easy”.
“So please, do not explain to me, coming from a state where Democratic governors and Republican governors have supported virtually no gun control…”
The skirmish between the Sanders and Clinton campaigns this week continues, with Sen.
He said he does not support any “unilateral military action” but rather a coalition in which the US works hand in hand with Muslim nations to fight the radical militant group. His state’s assault weapons ban, he said, might have stopped the man who bought assault rifles for the San Bernardino attackers from doing so. “We now have that”, Clinton said. “It really is important that we go forward on this”.
O’Malley, meanwhile, painted himself as the toughest candidate on so-called gun control and blasted his opponents’ records on the issue. He is far behind in the polls and needs to shake up a race increasingly tilting against him with six weeks to go until Iowa holds the first nominating contest on February 1.
Sanders needs to find ways to expand his appeal beyond the white, progressive voters who have been packing his rallies while convincing women that he is better suited to serve them than Clinton, who would make history as the first woman to become president.
“The CEOs of large multinationals may like Hillary”.
“Calm down a little bit, Martin”, Sanders said.
Clinton said: “Let’s tell the truth, Martin”.
The political brawl came one day before a debate between the presidential rivals, fueling rising tensions and highlighting complaints from Sanders and his liberal allies that the DNC is trying to help Clinton.
When pressed by the moderators, he says yes, he does apologize to Clinton for his staffers’ actions and says if any more are found to have been involved, they will be fired.
But while she stressed that her staff had worked hard to collate private data, “we should move on because I don’t think the American people are all that interested in this”.
Clinton says Muslims in the USA should be brought in to combat extremism at home – something she advocated for in a speech this week. “I think if he wants to win the election, as opposed to winning adulation from his fans, he needs to figure out what contrasts he wants to draw and draw them more sharply and forcefully”.
